Connection Explorer Not Opening After Tizen Studio 2.0 Update

Original Created Dec 02, 2017 | Regeneration Apr 22, 2026

After updating to Tizen Studio 2.0, I'm encountering the following error when trying to open Connection Explorer: "Could not create the view: org.tizen.common.connection.explorer.ConnectionExplorer"

I've tried reinstalling Tizen Studio twice, but the issue persists. Is there any solution to this problem?

Problem Understanding

The error occurs because Connection Explorer has been deprecated in Tizen Studio 2.0. The functionality has been replaced with a new tool called Device Manager.

Solution Methods

  1. Instead of using Connection Explorer, access the new Device Manager:

    • Go to Tools > Device Manager in Tizen Studio
    • All connected devices will be displayed there
  2. If you still need to use Connection Explorer:

    • Consider downgrading to an older version of Tizen Studio
    • Note that this is not recommended as you'll miss out on new features and bug fixes

Additional Tips

  • The Device Manager provides all the functionality previously available in Connection Explorer
  • Make sure your devices are properly connected via USB or network
  • If devices aren't showing up, check your connection and drivers
