Device Manager Not Working After Upgrading to Tizen Studio 2.2

Original Created Feb 25, 2018 | Regeneration Apr 22, 2026

After updating from Tizen Studio 2.0 to version 2.2, the Device Manager has stopped functioning. The issue persists even after updating to the latest Oracle JDK version.

When launching Tizen Studio after the update, I encounter an error screen (see attached image). Has anyone else experienced this problem after upgrading to Tizen Studio 2.2? If you've found a solution, please share how to resolve this issue.

Problem Understanding

The issue occurs when upgrading from Tizen Studio 2.0 to 2.2, where the Device Manager fails to function properly. This appears to be related to Java version conflicts.

Solution Methods

  1. Clean Reinstallation Approach:

    • Uninstall Tizen Studio completely
    • Delete all related logs and configuration files
    • Install Tizen Studio in a new directory
  2. Java Version Management:

    • Download and run the Java Uninstall Tool from Oracle
    • Remove all existing Java versions
    • Install the latest compatible Java version
    • Reinstall Tizen Studio

Additional Tips

  • Always verify Java version compatibility before installing Tizen Studio
  • Refer to the official installation guide for proper setup procedures
  • Consider checking the system requirements for Tizen Studio 2.2 to ensure your environment meets all prerequisites
